A quick and easy air fryer salmon recipe featuring a sticky-sweet honey soy glaze paired with toasted sesame broccoli, delivering crispy skin and tender flaky fish.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 salmon fillets (6 oz / 170g each), skin-on for crispiness
  • 2 tablespoons honey (raw or regular)
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce (low sodium preferred)
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 large head of broccoli, cut into bite-sized florets
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil (for broccoli)
  • 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds
  • Salt and pepper to taste (for broccoli)
  • Optional: a squeeze of fresh lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Prepare the glaze: In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, minced garlic, grated ginger, and sesame oil until well combined (about 3 minutes).
  2. Marinate the salmon: Pat salmon fillets dry. Place skin-side down in a shallow dish and pour half the glaze over, coating evenly. Reserve the other half for basting. Marinate for 15 minutes at room temperature.
  3. Prep the broccoli: Toss broccoli florets with sesame oil, salt, and pepper in a medium bowl. Set aside.
  4. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 3-5 minutes.
  5. Cook the salmon: Place salmon fillets skin-side down in the air fryer basket with space between each. Air fry for 7 minutes.
  6. Baste and flip: Brush salmon with reserved glaze, flip gently, and cook for another 3-4 minutes until salmon flakes easily and skin is crisp.
  7. Air fry broccoli: Spread broccoli in a single layer in the air fryer basket (in batches if needed). Cook at 400°F (200°C) for 6-8 minutes, shaking halfway, until tender-crisp and slightly charred.
  8. Finish broccoli: Toss cooked broccoli immediately with toasted sesame seeds and a squeeze of lemon juice if using.
  9. Serve salmon with sesame broccoli on the side. Drizzle any leftover glaze over the top.

Notes

Pat salmon dry before marinating to ensure crispy skin. Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket to allow even crisping. Baste salmon halfway through cooking for a sticky glaze. Toast sesame seeds separately for richer flavor. If no air fryer, use a heavy skillet or cast iron pan but watch cooking time closely.
