Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 bag (16 oz) frozen soft pretzel bites (e.g., SuperPretzel or Utz)
  • 2 tablespoons melted unsalted butter
  • Coarse sea salt
  • 1 cup (8 oz) beer cheese dip (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1/2 cup spicy brown mustard (e.g., Grey Poupon)
  • 1/2 cup ranch dressing (optional, e.g., Hidden Valley)
  • 4 oz sliced salami (Genoa or hard salami)
  • 4 oz sliced pepperoni
  • 4 oz prosciutto (optional)
  • 4 oz sharp cheddar cheese, cubed
  • 4 oz mozzarella pearls
  • 4 oz gouda or smoked cheese, sliced
  • 1 cup mixed olives (green and black, drained)
  • 1/2 cup pickled okra or cornichons
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1/2 cup roasted red peppers, sliced
  • Fresh herbs for garnish (rosemary or thyme sprigs)
  • 1/2 cup honey-roasted peanuts or almonds (optional)
  • 1/4 cup dark chocolate-covered pretzels (optional)
  • Fresh apple slices or grapes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Spread frozen pretzel bites in a single layer and bake for 8-10 minutes until golden and puffed, flipping halfway through.
  2. Prepare dips: Spoon beer cheese dip into one small bowl, spicy brown mustard into another, and ranch dressing (if using) into a third. Place bowls at opposite ends of a large wooden board or serving platter (at least 16×12 inches) to represent end zones.
  3. Arrange meats: Fold salami slices into quarters and place in a loose pile. Roll pepperoni slices into cylinders and stack next to salami. Drape prosciutto in a wavy pattern. Leave space between piles.
  4. Add cheeses: Scatter cheddar cubes around the board. Place mozzarella pearls in small clusters. Fan out gouda slices in a row near the center. Distribute cheese on both sides for easy access.
  5. Fill in with extras: Drop olives in small piles. Tuck pickled okra or cornichons next to meats. Sprinkle cherry tomatoes and roasted red peppers around the board to fill gaps.
  6. Once pretzel bites are done, remove from oven. While hot, brush generously with melted butter and sprinkle with coarse sea salt. Arrange pretzel bites in straight rows across the board like yard lines (5 rows of 6-8 pretzels each).
  7. Garnish with fresh herb sprigs. If using, sprinkle chocolate-covered pretzels or nuts in corners. Serve immediately while pretzels are warm.

Notes

For best results, warm the beer cheese dip slightly before serving. Let cheeses come to room temperature for better flavor. To keep pretzels crispier, after brushing with butter, return them to the oven for 2 minutes. Prep all components before the game starts and heat pretzels at halftime. Leftovers should be stored separately to avoid soggy pretzels.
