  • 6 ounces prosciutto, thinly sliced
  • 6 ounces salami, sliced into thin rounds
  • 6 ounces pepperoni, whole or sliced
  • 1 box (about 10 ounces) assorted crackers
  • 1 cup mixed nuts (honey roasted almonds and salted cashews)
  • 1 cup pretzel sticks or twists
  • 1 baguette, sliced into thin rounds and lightly toasted
  • 1 cup red grapes, washed and left in small clusters
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1 cup baby carrots or cucumber rounds
  • 1 apple, sliced thin and tossed with lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup whole grain mustard
  • 1/2 cup fig jam or apricot preserves
  • 1/2 cup olive tapenade or hummus
  • 1 cup mixed olives (kalamata and green, pitted)
  • 1/2 cup cornichons or small pickles
  • 1/4 cup pickled jalapeños
  • Fresh rosemary sprigs or thyme
  • Flaky sea salt
  • Edible flowers (optional)

Instructions

  1. Set up your board or surface: Place your large board or platter on a clean, flat surface. Arrange small bowls in a balanced pattern.
  2. Place the dips and spreads first: Spoon honey, whole grain mustard, fig jam, and olive tapenade into small bowls and position them on the board.
  3. Add the cheeses: Arrange aged cheddar, brie, smoked gouda, and blue cheese crumbles around the board, spacing them out.
  4. Layer the meats: Fold or roll prosciutto into loose ribbons, arrange salami in an overlapping fan pattern, and pile pepperoni in a separate spot.
  5. Fill in with crackers and bread: Arrange assorted crackers in small clusters, place baguette slices in a neat stack, and scatter pretzel sticks.
  6. Add fruits and vegetables: Tuck red grape clusters, cherry tomato halves, cucumber rounds, and apple slices into gaps.
  7. Finish with pickled elements and nuts: Spoon olives into a bowl or pile directly on the board, place cornichons and pickled jalapeños in small piles, and scatter mixed nuts and remaining pretzels.
  8. Garnish and final touches: Tuck fresh rosemary or thyme around the board, sprinkle flaky sea salt over cheeses and nuts, and add edible flowers if using. Fill any gaps with extra crackers or nuts. Serve immediately or cover and refrigerate for up to 2 hours.

Notes

For best flavor, let cheeses come to room temperature for 30 minutes before serving. Add crackers and bread just before serving to keep them crisp. The board can be assembled up to 2 hours ahead and refrigerated; let sit at room temperature for 20 minutes before serving. Leftovers can be stored separately in airtight containers for up to 3 days.
